Buildings that work hard
Arenas, pools, gyms and community centres are used from early morning to late night. They need strong mechanical systems, durable finishes and electrical service that keeps up with lighting, ice plants, pumps and ventilation.
That is where HSM's approach helps. Our own electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, and our own mechanical crew handle HVAC and plumbing. Those two trades make up a large share of the cost and risk in a recreation building, and we do not hand them to a stranger.

Keeping the doors open
Many recreation owners cannot close for a full year. Municipalities, associations and operators have seasons, leagues, swim programs and rentals to protect. We plan phasing around those calendars, and we involve our estimators and engineers early so the schedule and budget hold.
Because our crews are the same people from rough-in to final commissioning, there is one schedule and one point of accountability. If a problem appears in a mechanical room at 6 a.m., the team that built it is the team that responds.
From idea to operating building
We can start before design, helping with site selection, feasibility and budget. We then design and engineer in-house, build with our own crews, and support the finished facility with security systems, digital signage, networks, furniture and building maintenance.
Winter matters in Alberta. We plan enclosure, heating and concrete work so that cold weather does not become a surprise to your opening date.
Local knowledge, direct access
HSM is based in Edmonton with a second office in St. Albert, and our phones and email are answered 24/7/365. Owners, boards and facility managers can reach a real person when something needs attention, including after hours when many recreation buildings are busiest.
