Why work at HSM
Because we self-perform most of our work, our trades are the heart of the company. You are not a temporary name on a sheet. You work with a team that you know, on projects that you see through from start to finish.
Our crews work across offices, retail, hospitality, education and children's facilities, so the work stays varied. You will see how a project moves from lease and design through build and turnover.
We also want people to grow. Experienced leads mentor newer team members, and we encourage people to learn the neighbouring trades so they understand how their work fits into the whole building.
Who we look for
We value people who take pride in their work, communicate clearly and put safety first. We are interested in people from these areas:
- Electricians, including apprentices and journeypersons
- Mechanical trades, including HVAC and plumbing
- Carpenters and millwork
- Interior systems: framing, drywall and ceilings
- Painters
- Low voltage and security technicians
- Project managers, coordinators and estimators
How we work
Our teams are led by experienced managers. Our Electrical Manager is a Master Electrician. Our Interior Systems Manager has two decades of experience, and our project managers have strong backgrounds in construction. That is a good environment to learn in.
Safety is led by our Director of Health & Safety, and we expect everyone to look out for each other. We are a Canadian company in Edmonton, and many of us live and work here year-round.
