Vault Room Construction

A vault room protects what matters most. HSM builds the rooms around vaults and safe deposit areas, and coordinates structure, power, air and security in one schedule.

Vault Room Construction

The details around the vault

A vault door or safe is only part of the job. The surrounding room needs a structure that can carry the weight, a controlled entry and a stable environment. Many vault components come from specialist suppliers, so openings, anchors and floor loading must be exact.

We review the supplier's requirements early. That includes slab capacity, door swing, clearances and delivery routes. If the floor needs reinforcement, engineering input comes through our in-house engineering team led by Dr. Magdy Istafanous.

Power, air and alarms

Vault rooms need dependable power for lighting, alarms and access control, often with backup. Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, builds the circuits and panels. Our mechanical crew handles ventilation, because sealed rooms still need air movement and humidity control for records, media and equipment.

Our low voltage team installs intrusion alarms, cameras and access control, tying them into the building's security system.

  • Reinforced walls and floors as required
  • Controlled entry and logging
  • Dedicated lighting and power
  • Humidity and temperature control

Safe deposit and counter areas

Where customers access boxes, the space needs privacy rooms, clear sightlines for staff and durable finishes. Our carpenters and interior crews build the counters, viewing rooms and ceilings.

What to plan for

Lead times for vault doors and specialty hardware can be long. Delivery often needs cranes or special rigging, and some work must happen when the branch is closed. We plan this with the supplier and building owner. We will also confirm which permits and inspections apply under Alberta Safety Codes and the municipality.

Vault work is done once and has to last. We keep records of the as-built conditions, including structure, power and alarms, so future upgrades start from facts rather than guesses. Our crews are used to restricted access and to coordinating with bank security staff, couriers and equipment suppliers, so the room is handed over complete and ready for inspection.
