What makes a branch different
Branches combine public service areas, private meeting rooms, cash handling and back-of-house space. Each zone has different security, acoustic and finish needs. Sightlines from the teller line to the entrance matter, as does privacy at advice desks.
Most banks work from corporate standards for layout, signage and materials. We build to those drawings and raise coordination issues early, before they cost time on site.
What our own trades do
Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, handles power, lighting, data pathways and the panels that feed teller stations and ATMs. Our mechanical crew installs the HVAC and plumbing, and keeps comfort steady in a space with large glazing and steady foot traffic.
Low voltage covers alarms, access control, surveillance and sound masking for private rooms. Interior systems and carpentry build the partitions, ceilings, counters and millwork. Because these trades work for us, one project manager controls the sequence.
Common challenges
Branches often stay open during renovation. That calls for phased construction, protected paths for customers and quiet hours for noisy work. Existing buildings can hide surprises in ceilings and slabs, especially where old cabling runs.
Vendor-supplied items such as night deposit units, ATMs and safes need accurate openings and power. We confirm these details with suppliers before framing begins.
- Phasing around opening hours
- Secure delivery and storage of materials
- Coordination with equipment vendors
- Meeting corporate finish standards
What to plan for
Allow time for permits and for security equipment lead times. Decide early on the teller model, whether open counters or pods, because it drives electrical, data and millwork. Our project managers will walk you through the schedule and the decisions that matter most.
Once the branch opens, we stay available. Our electrical and mechanical crews know the building because they built it, so a flickering light, a noisy air handler or a door that sticks gets a fast response rather than a search for the right subcontractor. That continuity is a real advantage for a branch that cannot afford long outages.
Questions we hear
Can you build a new branch from a lease stage?
Yes. We can help before the lease is signed so construction cost is part of the decision.
