Dense technology, long hours
Traders sit at multiple screens, with computers, phones and sometimes dedicated hardware at each desk. This creates high electrical loads and lots of heat in a small area. The room needs raised flooring or generous cable pathways, plus cooling that handles a heavy load without drafts.
Our in-house engineering, led by Dr. Magdy Istafanous, helps size electrical and mechanical systems with the load in mind.
Reliability by design
Downtime is costly in a trading environment. Power may need backup from a UPS or generator, and cooling may need redundancy. Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, installs distribution, backup connections and circuits for each desk. Our mechanical crew installs HVAC with the capacity and controls the room needs.
Low voltage covers structured cabling pathways, AV, large display walls, surveillance and access control.
- High-density power and data
- Redundant or backup systems
- Display walls and AV
- Acoustics and glare control
Comfort and focus
People work here for long stretches. Lighting should reduce glare on screens. Sound should be controlled so voices do not overwhelm. Our interior systems team builds ceilings and partitions to manage sound, and our carpenters build desks and millwork.
Working in an occupied building
Many trading floors are renovated inside operating offices. That calls for phased work, after-hours shutdowns and clean change-overs. We schedule cutovers with your IT team so systems stay online. Allow time for equipment lead times and for testing before staff move in.
Testing is part of the job. Before staff move in, we test circuits, backup connections, cooling and cabling with your IT team, and we correct deficiencies on the spot. Because our electrical, mechanical and low voltage crews all report to the same project manager, the fix is made once and tested once, not argued across several firms.
