High End Clothing Retailer

Premium retail depends on detail. This project shows how our own carpenters, electricians and finishers deliver a store that looks right under the lights.

Retail where finish is the product

In a high-end clothing store, the building is part of the brand. Walls must be perfectly flat, joints tight, paint even and fixtures aligned. Customers may not name these things, but they notice when they are wrong.

Our interior systems team builds the framing, drywall and ceilings. Our painters and carpenters bring a finish-focused approach that suits a boutique setting, and our own crews can fix issues quickly during the build.

Millwork, displays and fitting rooms

Custom millwork often defines the store: cash wraps, display tables, wall systems and fitting room casework. Our carpenters and millwork team fabricate and install these to the designer's drawings, and work with brand fixtures supplied by the client.

Fitting rooms need privacy, good lighting and solid doors and hardware, which our door and hardware crew installs.

Lighting and building systems

Lighting makes or breaks a clothing store. Accent lights, track systems, display cases and ambient lighting all need to be positioned and aimed correctly. Our electrical team, led by a Master Electrician, installs and tests these, and sets up controls so the store can change settings from day to night.

Our mechanical crew handles HVAC and plumbing, so the sales floor stays comfortable and the back of house works. Our low voltage group adds security cameras, alarms and point-of-sale cabling.

Timing and mall rules

Retail projects often run against an opening date. Landlords, especially in malls, may set work hours, hoarding requirements and approvals. We plan around these rules and keep the opening date in view from the first day.

Because we self-perform, the electrical, mechanical and finish crews are coordinated by one site team. That means tighter quality control on the details a premium store depends on, and one point of contact for the owner and designer.

Questions we hear

Can HSM work with the brand's own fixtures?

Yes. We coordinate delivery and installation of supplied fixtures and build the surrounding millwork and services to suit.
