High End Electronics Retailer

An electronics store is a showroom full of live equipment. This project shows why electrical and low voltage skills matter on retail work.

A store full of live technology

Electronics retailers need power and data almost everywhere: demo tables, wall displays, screens, charging points and checkout. Poor planning leaves cords across the floor or outlets in the wrong spot.

We design the electrical layout with the store plan, so every display has power and data where it needs them. Our electrical team is led by a Master Electrician, and our low voltage team is led by a manager who specializes in alarms, AV, sound masking and surveillance.

Security that fits the product

High-value products need serious security. Our low voltage group installs surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control and, where the design calls for it, secured storage and back-of-house areas.

Security needs to be built into the store from the start. Doors, hardware, wall construction and wiring should all support the system. Since our own crews do each of these, the details line up.

Display, sound and light

Product demos need good lighting and sound control. We install lighting that shows products without glare, and our low voltage team can add audio systems and control sound levels in demo areas. Digital signage adds pricing and promotional content.

Our interior systems and carpentry crews build the walls, ceilings, display tables and millwork. Our painters give the space a clean, even finish that lets the product stand out.

Climate and schedule

Electronics generate heat and customers expect comfort. Our mechanical crew handles HVAC and plumbing so the store, stockroom and staff areas stay at the right temperature. Retail dates are firm, so we coordinate deliveries, inspections and the brand's own fixture installers around one clear schedule.

Our own trades also keep cost and quality in check. With electrical, low voltage and mechanical under one roof, there are fewer subcontractors to chase and one team accountable for the finished store.

Questions we hear

Can HSM handle security systems for a retail store?

Yes. Security systems are a core turn-key service, installed by our own low voltage team.
