Parking Structures

Parking structures last a long time but need regular care. HSM handles the upgrades that keep them safe, bright and useful, from lighting and ventilation to access control and EV charging.

Parking Structures

Structures that work hard

Concrete parking structures face salt, freeze-thaw cycles and heavy use. Cracks, spalling, failed joints and corroded reinforcing steel are common, and repairs must be done properly to protect the structure. Structural repair design is carried out by engineers, and our in-house engineering team, led by Dr. Magdy Istafanous, helps coordinate that work.

Safety and perception are key. People judge a car park by its lighting, cleanliness and visibility, so lighting upgrades and painting often deliver the most noticeable improvement.

Services we install

Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, replaces lighting with efficient LED fixtures, adds controls, installs power for gates, payment equipment and EV charging, and upgrades emergency lighting. Our mechanical crew handles drainage, ventilation or exhaust where required, and any heating of ramps or entries.

Our low voltage group installs surveillance, emergency call stations, access control, licence plate recognition wiring and networks. Our painters refresh walls, columns and line markings, and our carpenters and door crews build stairwells, entrances and booths.

What to plan for

Closing levels in sections allows the facility to stay in operation while work progresses. Plan the order of work with the revenue impact in mind, and communicate with users using clear signage.

Concrete repair and coatings depend on temperature, so most exterior or exposed work is done in warmer months. Ask for a condition assessment before planning major upgrades, so spending goes where it matters most.

Planning the repair programme

Parking structure work is best done as a programme, not as emergency repairs. A condition assessment identifies urgent items, work that can wait and options for phasing. That helps owners spread cost over several years while keeping the structure safe.

We can build the upgrade scope with your engineer's recommendations, then deliver lighting, electrical and finish work with our crews.
