Airline Lounges

Airline lounges are quiet, finished spaces inside a busy terminal. HSM builds them with careful millwork, lighting and acoustics, and the systems behind them.

Airline Lounges

A premium feel in a secure setting

A lounge sells comfort: calm acoustics, good lighting, comfortable seating, power at every seat and quality food and beverage service. It also sits inside a secured airport, so access, deliveries and working hours are tightly controlled. We plan logistics as carefully as design.

Many lounges are on mezzanines or in terminal spaces with limited floor loading, narrow access and fixed building services. We review existing conditions early so the design fits what the building can support.

Finishes and systems

Our carpenters and millwork crew build bars, buffets, reception desks and feature walls. Our drywall, ceiling and painting crews deliver acoustic ceilings and wall finishes that keep noise down. Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, installs layered lighting, power and USB at seating, and emergency systems.

Our mechanical crew handles HVAC for comfort, plumbing for washrooms, showers and food service, and kitchen ventilation. Our low voltage group, led by Adam Mason, installs AV, flight information displays, sound masking, Wi-Fi, access control and surveillance.

What to plan for

Overnight work windows are common. Material deliveries may be limited to certain hours and routes, and every crew member may need airport security clearance. We plan for lead time on badging.

Brand standards and airline requirements should be confirmed early. Furniture and specialty finishes often take months to arrive, so order before construction ends. Plan for how the lounge will be cleaned and maintained daily, as heavy use shows wear quickly.

Handover and day-to-day care

Lounges must look good on the first day and stay that way. Durable upholstery, cleanable surfaces and well-protected corners help. We hand over a care guide for finishes and equipment, and we can provide maintenance support so wear is repaired quickly.

A final inspection with your operations team ensures that every detail matches the brief.
