Shared walls, shared concerns
Townhomes sit side by side, so sound, fire separation and moisture control matter. Party walls need the right assemblies to limit sound transfer and slow fire spread, and details at the roof, balconies and foundation affect long-term durability.
Our in-house engineering team and interior systems crew work through these assemblies, from framing and drywall to ceilings and insulation details. Alberta's cold winters make air sealing and heating design especially important.
Systems that serve each home
Each townhome needs its own heating, ventilation, hot water and electrical service, often with shared connections to the street. Our mechanical crew installs HVAC and plumbing, and our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, handles panels, meters and lighting.
Repeat units, repeat savings
A group of townhomes is repetitive by design. That helps cost and schedule when crews move from unit to unit in a set sequence. Because we use our own trades, we can keep the same people on the same work across the whole row, which tightens quality.
Many existing townhome complexes need work on roofs, siding, decks, entries and exterior doors, or on interior renovations as units change hands. We plan phasing by building, not by unit, to limit repeated disruption, and we coordinate with the complex's board or property manager.
Questions to ask early
Good questions for owners and developers:
- Unit mix and parking layout
- Heating and ventilation approach
- Exterior cladding and winter construction plan
- Fire and sound separation targets
- Schedule for occupancy by phase
Getting started
We are happy to review drawings, a site or an existing complex. Early conversations about layout, systems and construction timing, including winter work, save time and cost later.
Questions we hear
Do you build new townhome developments?
Yes, within our project range up to $50,000,000. We can also help with site selection and budgeting before design.
