Power and data are the backbone
Tech offices run more screens, devices and equipment per person than most offices. Network closets, lab benches, test areas and server rooms add further demand.
Our Master Electrician-led crew installs the power and lighting, and our low voltage team, led by Adam Mason, installs structured cabling, wireless support, AV, access control and surveillance. One team covers both ends of the wire.
Flexible, collaborative layouts
Tech teams often prefer open collaboration areas, whiteboard walls, huddle rooms and quiet focus zones. Layouts also change as teams grow. We help by planning power and data to be easy to extend and by using demountable or reconfigurable partitions where appropriate.
Amenity spaces such as kitchens, game rooms and wellness rooms are common, and they need plumbing, ventilation and durable finishes.
Cooling and acoustics
Equipment and crowded rooms produce heat. Our mechanical team designs HVAC zoning for the real loads, including server rooms and meeting rooms that fill quickly.
Open spaces get loud, so we use acoustic ceilings, wall panels and sound masking. Specialty ceilings and exposed structure look good but need attention to sound, fire protection and lighting, and our interior systems team has experience with these.
Speed and change
Tech tenants often need space fast and may expand mid-lease. Because HSM self-performs most trades, we can respond quickly to changes and add phases without lining up new subcontractors.
Turn-key services such as networks, security systems, digital signage, furniture and maintenance can be bundled so one company supports the whole workplace.
Wellness and amenity spaces
Many tech employers add kitchens, lounges, bike storage, showers and quiet rooms. These bring plumbing, ventilation and finish choices that hold up under heavy use. Our mechanical crew handles the plumbing and HVAC side, and our interior team handles the build.
Alberta winters make features such as showers and bike storage popular, and we plan their drainage and drying needs from the start.
