Money has a mission
Non-profit budgets come from donors, grants and public funding, and every dollar is expected to support the mission. Construction should be efficient, transparent and well documented.
We offer clear budgets and options, help prioritize the work and avoid layers of subcontractor markup by using our own electrical, mechanical, interior and millwork crews.
Spaces for staff, clients and volunteers
Non-profit offices often combine staff workspaces with client meeting rooms, intake areas, training rooms, storage and volunteer space. Privacy matters for counselling and sensitive conversations, so walls, doors and ceilings must handle sound well.
Our interior systems crew builds acoustic partitions and ceilings, our carpenters and millwork team build reception desks and storage, and our doors and hardware crew installs secure doors.
Leasing and tenant improvements
Most non-profits lease space. We can get involved before the lease, reviewing a candidate space and estimating construction costs, which supports negotiation for allowances and free rent. Base-building electrical and HVAC capacity are common hidden costs.
Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, and our mechanical crew, for HVAC and plumbing, can quickly tell whether a space will work.
Offices need dependable networks, phones, security and access control. Our low voltage team, led by Adam Mason, handles cabling, cameras and door entry. We can also supply furniture, digital signage and building maintenance, so the office opens complete.
Plan for these items
Organizations should consider:
- Client privacy and accessibility
- Lease terms and landlord approvals
- Phasing as funding arrives
- Space for growth
- Safe after-hours access
Getting started
Send us the space you are considering, or the space you have. We can walk it with you, check the building's services and put together a clear budget and schedule.
Questions we hear
Can you help before we sign a lease?
Yes. We can review the space and estimate construction costs so you can negotiate with real numbers.
