Open gym and treatment rooms
Most clinics have an exercise area with equipment, plus treatment rooms with plinths, curtains or doors. Ceiling height, floor loading and sound all matter, as equipment and weights create impact and noise.
Our framing, drywall and ceiling crews build treatment rooms to a good sound standard, and our carpenters build reception counters, storage and built-in cabinets.
Floors that work hard
Flooring in the gym area must be durable, cushioned and slip-resistant. Treatment rooms often use easily cleaned flooring. Transitions between flooring types should be flush for safe movement.
If heavy equipment is planned, confirm the slab or floor structure can handle it. Our in-house engineering can review loads.
Ventilation and comfort
Active clients breathe more and sweat more, so air quality and temperature matter. Our HVAC crew designs air supply and exhaust for the gym area and keeps treatment rooms comfortable and quiet.
Showers, washrooms and laundry areas need plumbing and drainage, which our mechanical team handles, including accessible fixtures.
Power, lighting and technology
Therapy equipment, treatment tables, ultrasound units and screens need outlets in the right places. Our Master Electrician-led crew installs lighting and power, and our low voltage team installs data, cameras, alarms and access control.
Digital signage and booking systems can be added as part of our turn-key services.
What to plan for
Accessibility is central for physiotherapy, from entry doors to treatment rooms and washrooms. Consider parking, drop-off and winter access. A thoughtful plan keeps the clinic welcoming for people with limited mobility.
Equipment needs to be anchored properly, wall corners protected and mirrors mounted securely. We build backing into walls during framing so rails, mirrors, TVs and storage can be installed later. Our Director of Health & Safety, Ghilda Gaber, leads safety planning on our sites.
