Clean and controlled spaces
A surgical centre separates clean and dirty flows, sterile processing, operating rooms, recovery and support areas. Surfaces must be seamless, cleanable and durable. Doors, walls and ceilings are chosen to limit joints and dust.
Our interior systems and finishing crews build to these requirements, and details such as sealed ceilings and cleanable finishes are carefully coordinated.
Because our own trades build the walls, ceilings, ductwork and electrical, the sealing and sequencing needed for clean rooms are managed by a single team instead of passed between companies.
Ventilation and pressure
Operating rooms rely on controlled airflow, filtration and pressure relationships to protect patients. Air quality and temperature and humidity control are critical. Our mechanical crew installs HVAC and ductwork, and in-house engineering, led by Dr. Magdy Istafanous, helps with design and balancing.
Systems are tested and balanced before opening to confirm that they work as intended.
Medical gas, power and backup
Operating and recovery rooms need medical gas, suction, specialty lighting and lots of power. Backup power and emergency systems are essential. Our Master Electrician-led crew installs panels, lighting, grounding and emergency power connections.
Medical gas systems are installed and certified by qualified specialists. We coordinate access, scheduling and building tie-ins.
Technology and security
Our low voltage team installs nurse call, data, access control, cameras and alarms. Patient privacy and drug storage need secure rooms, built with strong walls and doors.
Digital signage for waiting and wayfinding can be part of our turn-key services.
Planning notes
Regulatory approvals, accreditation and inspections add steps and time, and equipment lead times are long. Start early, involve your clinical and regulatory advisors, and plan time for commissioning. HSM can review a candidate space before the lease to confirm height, structure and services can support surgery.
