Tech Company Office

Technology tenants need more from a building than most. The Tech Company Office project shows how we handle power, data and cooling alongside a comfortable workspace.

What tech tenants need

A tech office tends to have dense equipment, many screens, video conferencing and a team that changes size often. That puts pressure on power distribution, data cabling and cooling, and it needs flexible layouts that can adjust without major rework.

We plan these needs early. Our engineering group reviews electrical loads and air handling, and our project managers confirm what the tenant's IT team requires before the walls go up.

Electrical, low voltage and mechanical in-house

Our electrical team, led by a Master Electrician, builds the power backbone: panels, circuits, lighting and controls. Our low voltage group, under the Low Voltage Systems Manager, installs cabling, access control, surveillance, audio visual and sound masking.

Equipment rooms and busy meeting areas often need extra cooling. Our mechanical crew handles HVAC and plumbing, including supplemental cooling and kitchen or break area services.

Having all of this under one roof means the cabling, ceiling grid, lights and ducts are coordinated by one team. That reduces rework and protects the schedule.

Finishes that suit the culture

Tech workplaces often want an open, casual feel with a few strong design moments. Our interior systems and carpentry crews build feature ceilings, acoustic treatments, custom millwork and glass partitions.

Acoustics matter in open rooms. We pair ceiling and wall treatments with sound masking so conversations stay private and focus is easier.

  • Power and data planned for growth
  • Acoustic control in open areas
  • Meeting rooms wired for conferencing
  • Coordinated move-in with IT and furniture

Planning for change

Teams grow and shrink, and a tech office needs to follow. We talk with the tenant early about future desks, rooms and equipment, then size electrical capacity, cable pathways and air handling with some room to spare.

Doing so costs little at construction time and saves a great deal later, when a wall opens up or a new team moves in.

Questions we hear

Can HSM install networks and AV?

Yes. Our low voltage team handles cabling, AV, sound masking and surveillance, and we offer computer networks and digital signage as turn-key services.
