Small footprint, many systems
A convenience store packs coolers, a counter, food service, washrooms, storage and often a fuel or lottery component into a compact space. Every square foot has a job, and the layout has to allow staff to see the whole store.
Our Master Electrician-led crew installs power for coolers, lighting, signage and checkout equipment, while our mechanical team handles HVAC and plumbing.
Security and safety
Long hours and cash handling make security a priority. Our low voltage team installs cameras, alarms, access control and sometimes panic systems. Good sight lines, bright lighting and a strong back room all support safety.
Our Director of Health & Safety, Ghilda Gaber, leads safety on our sites, which matters when a store remains partly open.
Durable finishes
Floors, walls, counters and doors take heavy use. Hard-wearing flooring, cleanable wall surfaces and sturdy hardware keep upkeep costs down. Our carpenters build counters and shelving to fit the space.
Entrances in Alberta face salt, slush and cold. A proper vestibule, mats and heating at the door protect both customers and floors.
Working around trading hours
Many owners cannot close for long. We often phase work, run overnight shifts for noisy tasks and keep the store partly open. Because most trades are our own, we can adjust daily.
Refrigeration changes are planned with suppliers so stock is protected.
Plan ahead
Signage, canopy work and any site changes may need municipal permits. We prepare drawings and coordinate with the municipality, and our building maintenance service is available once the store is open.
For owners with more than one site, a repeatable design and one contractor can save time on each build. We can adapt a standard layout to each location while keeping fixtures, finishes and systems consistent across stores.
