Scale changes the work
A big box is a large open volume with a high ceiling, a big floor area and long runs of services. Lighting, sprinklers, ducts and power have to cover a lot of space, and small mistakes get repeated across hundreds of fixtures.
Our Master Electrician-led crew installs large lighting grids, panels and power, and our mechanical team handles rooftop units, ductwork and plumbing.
Heating large volumes
Warming a tall store in an Alberta winter is a real design problem. Entrance doors, loading doors and rooftop units all affect comfort and energy cost. Our HVAC crew sizes systems for the real loads and sets up zones so that one area does not overheat while another is cold.
Air curtains, vestibules and door seals at entries reduce drafts.
Racking, flooring and receiving
Floors need to hold racking, forklifts and carts. Slabs may need patching, grinding or sealing, and anchors for racking need to be placed carefully. Receiving areas, dock doors and storage rooms need doors and hardware that withstand daily use.
Our framing, drywall, ceiling and painting crews build offices, fitting rooms and service areas inside the large shell.
Renovating while trading
Big box retailers often remodel in phases so they can keep selling. We plan work by zone, protect customer paths, and schedule noisy work overnight.
Seasonal sales calendars matter. Fall and winter holiday periods are usually off-limits, so we aim to finish before those windows.
Cost and procurement
Retail chains often supply their own fixtures and shelving. We coordinate delivery and installation with our trades. Because we self-perform much of the work, we can price and schedule it with fewer parties and fewer hand-offs.
Permits for large interior projects often include fire protection, electrical and mechanical review. Our in-house engineering, led by Dr. Magdy Istafanous, helps prepare the information the municipality asks for, so reviews move along without repeated rounds.
