A retail building with special rules
The convenience store is the part customers see, but the site is governed by fuel regulations. Tanks, piping, dispensers, leak detection, emergency shut-offs and electrical classification zones around dispensers all follow specific rules. Specialist fuel system contractors typically handle tanks and fuel piping, and we coordinate closely with them and with the Safety Codes process.
We focus on what surrounds that: the building, the canopy electrical, the store interior, and the systems that keep the site running day and night.
What our trades do
Our electrical crew, led by a Master Electrician, installs service, panels, canopy lighting, pump power, controls and emergency shut-off wiring. Our mechanical crew handles HVAC, refrigeration support, plumbing and washrooms. Interior crews build the store: walls, ceilings, millwork, counters, coolers and food-service areas.
Our low voltage group installs point-of-sale cabling, surveillance, access control, alarms and digital signage. Cameras and lighting matter on sites that operate late at night, and we design coverage to reach pumps, doors and the parking area.

Planning a station project
Traffic access, turning radius for fuel trucks and sightlines to the road affect the site plan. Municipal development approvals often take longer than construction, so begin them early.
Renovations, such as store refreshes or adding a food counter or car wash, are usually done while the site stays open. We separate work areas, keep fuel sales running where safe, and schedule shut-downs for the electrical and fuel work. If you operate several sites, tell us. A repeatable approach saves time and cost.
Keeping the site open
Gas stations lose revenue every hour they are closed. We phase construction to keep fuel and the store operating wherever it is safe, and schedule shut-downs for tie-ins at the quietest times. A clear communication plan with staff and a contact on site help minimize surprises.
We can also manage ongoing building maintenance and signage after handover.
