Commercial Construction in Lloydminster

Building in Lloydminster

Lloydminster is a border city, with the line between the provinces running through it. Commercial buildings include retail, offices, service shops, clinics and industrial space, many tied to the oil and agricultural economy. Which side of the border a property is on matters for permits and codes.

How we serve Lloydminster

Our offices are in Edmonton and St. Albert, and Lloydminster is a few hours' drive east. We assign a project manager, plan crews and materials in advance, and include travel in the estimate. Call 1 800 716 8955 or email contact@hsmcm.ca. We answer 24/7/365.

Being on the border can complicate matters such as codes, contractor requirements and tax treatment. We recommend confirming these items at the start. We work with you and the local authority to clarify them, and we plan the project so approvals do not hold up crews once they arrive.

Our own trades on your project

Travelling crews work best when they are self-contained. HSM's electricians, led by a Master Electrician, mechanical crews, interior trades and low voltage team arrive together and keep one schedule. We use local suppliers and subcontractors when practical.

  • Office and shop renovations
  • Retail and restaurant fit-ups
  • Heating, ventilation and electrical upgrades
  • Security systems and AV

Local considerations

Permits depend on the side of the border where the property sits. We confirm with the relevant authority at the start, and we work with Alberta codes and processes on Alberta-side projects. Winter driving and weather are part of scheduling.

Because the city straddles two provinces, suppliers, inspectors and utility providers may be on either side of the line. We sort out who we deal with for each part of the work before mobilizing. That avoids delays and keeps your budget realistic. We also plan for the practical side, such as freight, crew accommodation and winter driving, so the project runs smoothly even when it is far from our offices.

Planning your project

Tell us the property address, scope and timeline. We will clarify which rules apply, assess logistics and give you a plain budget range and plan.
